Problem of Project
1) Women of Lithuania hold a low level of legal knowledge; 2) Violence in family is not considered to be a social problem in society; 3) Limited opportunities to obtain free legal aid.

Goal of Project
Legal education of women, change of society attitudes towards violence in family –to reduce social disjuncture of women.

Main project activities. Project administration; selection and training of legal advisors; legal consultations and seminars in Vilnius and in ten administrative regions of Lithuania; 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence (discussions with politicians, public action of awareness); publications (3 brochures on family law, alimony, violence in family, info-flyers); public relations (press-releases, articles, project page in Information portal for women www.lygus.lt, posters; audit.

Project results
Selected and trained legal advisors (6-8); 300 individual legal consultations; 10 circuit seminars in 10 regions; spread information on consultations and seminars in regional press (40); shared good practice of WIIC with 10 organizations; 2 discussions with politicians; 1 public action of awareness; 1 banner in popular news portals; 3 publications on family law (3000), alimony (3000), violence in family (10000), info-flyers (25000); project page in Information portal for women www.lygus.lt; 10 press-releases, articles on project; 300 posters distributed; audit.
Target group. Direct: women in need of legal aid and information; women’s NGOs; indirect: society.
